Option 1: Control with your motherboard (software-based)
-
If your motherboard has a 5V 3-pin ARGB header and supports RGB software (like MSI Mystic Light, ASUS Aura, etc.), you can connect the fans to it.
-
This lets you control lighting effects, colors, and sync with other components.
-
In this setup, the RGB/reset button on your case is not used for lighting, and can be repurposed as a normal reset button if desired.
Option 2: Control with an ARGB controller (button or remote-based)
-
Some Kolink cases include an ARGB controller. In that case, the fans are connected to the controller, and you can use the case button or a remote to cycle lighting modes.
-
If your case doesn’t include a controller, the RGB button may not function unless you install one.
What if I just want to use the button as a reset button?
If you're not using the button for lighting, you can plug it into your motherboard’s RESET SW header. It will then function as a standard reset button, which is safe and works as expected.
NOTE: Not all Kolink cases or motherboards support ARGB control. Always check your case manual and motherboard specs to see if you have a standard 5V 3-pin ARGB header before connecting anything.
